There are all sorts of folks willing to give (or should I say sell?) you advice on how to write a book, how to publish a book, how to self-publish, how to edit, how to market and every other aspect of this business we call publishing, literature, or writing. Most of these folks will be happiest if you purchase their book answering one or all of these questions for you.
